Eleanor Anna Robinson was born on 9 December 1915 at Linden, Woodward Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1,3 She was the daughter of William Edgar Robinson and Jeanette Bastian.3 Eleanor Anna Robinson married, at age 19, Dale Kiess Corson, age 21, son of Archie Corson and Laura M. Kiess, on Saturday, 7 September 1935.4,2,3 Eleanor Anna Robinson died on 10 September 2007 at age 91 years, 9 months and 1 day.3
She appeared on the census of 24 March 1920 in the household of William Edgar Robinson and Jeanette Bastian at Woodward Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. Eleanor Anna Robinson appeared on the census of 14 April 1930 in the household of William Edgar Robinson and Jeanette Bastian at Woodward Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. Her obituary was published on 12 September 2007 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. Her obituary stated:
Eleanor R. Corson, 91, formerly of Larryville, died Monday, Sept. 10, 2007 in the Williamsport Home.
Born Dec. 9, 1915 in Linden, she was the daughter of William E. Robinson Sr. and the former Jeannette Bastian.
Her husband, Dale Kiess Corson, preceded her in death March 18, 1973. They were united in marriage Sept. 7, 1935.
Eleanor was a 1933 graduate of the Williamsport High School and taught sewing as a 4H leader for six years. She was a free lance writer, her articles and poetry were published in several Christian magazines. She enjoyed researching and recording family history and had written two journals for distribution within her family.
Eleanor loved to quilt, and made a special quilt for each of her children.
For more than 20 years she was a member of the Williamsport Auxiliary of the Gideon’s International. She was a former member and Sunday school teacher at the Larryville United Methodist Church and currently is a member of the Mountain View Church of the Christian and Missionary Alliance in Jersey Shore.
Eleanor is survived by two sons, Dale R. (Marjorie) Corson of Brookside and William (Suzanne) Corson of Byron, N.Y; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren; one brother, William E. Robinson of Linden; four sisters, Louise Taylor of Williamsport, Betty Paulhamus of Linden, Edith Robinson of Williamsport and Claire DeWald of Hughesville.
She was preceded in death by a brother, the Rev. Charles Robinson of Birch Run, Mich; a sister, Janet Osborn of New Castle; and a grandson, Michael Corson.
Funeral services will be Thursday, Sept. 13, at 11 a.m. in the Mountain View Church of the Christian and Missionary Alliance, 1515 Cemetery St., Jersey Shore. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of services in the church. Burial will follow in the Jersey Shore Cemetery. The Rev. Robert Grimes, her pastor, will officiate.
Memorial contributions can be made in her name to a charity of the donor’s choice. Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore, is in charge of arrangements.3
