     Fern E. Getz was born on 8 January 1903 at Linden, Woodward Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.2 She was the daughter of Edward Getz and Margaret Bidle.1 Fern E. Getz married J. Elmer Hughes in 1925.2,3 Fern E. Getz died on 21 February 1998 at Roseview Manor, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 95 years, 1 month and 13 days. She was buried on 25 February 1998 in the Twin Hills Memorial Park, located in Fairfield Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.
     Fern E. Getz was also known as Verna. She appeared on the census of 21 April 1910 in the household of Edward Getz and Ida Bidle at Anthony Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. Fern E. Getz appeared on the census of 22 March 1920 in the household of Edward Getz and Ida Bidle at Anthony Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. Fern E. Getz and J. Elmer Hughes appeared on the census of 8 April 1930 at Williamsport, 7th Ward, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. She was widowed at age 80 by the death of J. on 28 May 1983.4
