Hazel Frieda Young was born on 27 August 1919 at Blooming Grove, Hepburn Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of Walter Lewis Young and Dorothy Anna Kiess. Hazel Frieda Young married, at age 35, David B. Null, age 30 on Friday, 10 September 1954.1 Hazel Frieda Young died on 10 July 2005 at age 85 years, 10 months and 13 days.
Her obituary was published on 11 July 2005 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. Her obituary stated:
Frieda Y. Null, 85, of 2237 Bobst Mountain Road, Cogan Station, died Sunday July 10, 2005, at the Williamsport Hospital. Born August 27, 1919, in Hepburn Township, she was the daughter of Walter L. and Dorothy Kiess Young.
She was a member of the Balls Mills Methodist Church and was active in its Sunday School. She graduated from the former Hepburn High School and the Miss Wheaton’s Business School. She enjoyed gardening, traveling and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, David B. Null, on Feb. 6, 1995, and also by a sister and two brothers.
Frieda is survived by a son, Gene M. (Tracey) Null; two daughters, Barbara S. (Tom) Neuhard and Marie R. (Tom) Murphy, all of Cogan Station; seven grandchildren, Ashley and Ryann Null, Rachel and Josh Neuhard, and Sarah, Emily and Kate Murphy.
The funeral service will be held 5 p.m. Tuesday from the Balls Mills United Methodist Church, 5941 Blooming Grove Road, Cogan Station, PA 17728, with the Rev. James R. Sunderland, Jr., her pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in the Blooming Grove Cemetery. Friends will be received in the church from 4 to 5 p.m. Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Church Memorial Fund. Arrangements by Spitler Funeral Home, Montoursville.2
