     R. Kenneth Heim was born on 23 June 1917 at Balls Mills, Hepburn Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.2 He was the son of Ezra B. Heim and Hannah Ann Wilson. R. Kenneth Heim first married, at age 24, Virginia T. Benson, age 23 on Saturday, 23 August 1941.2 R. Kenneth Heim married a second time, at age 45, Jean Louise Bennett on Sunday, 12 August 1962.2 R. Kenneth Heim died on 7 January 2001 at Berwick, Columbia County, Pennsylvania, at age 83 years, 6 months and 15 days. He was buried in the Montoursville Cemetery, located in Montoursville, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.
     R. Kenneth Heim was known as Reverend professionally.1 He was an Evangelical Minister between 1940 and 1990. He performed the wedding for Frederick Watson Lovell and Brenda Joyce Ulmer on 17 September 1960 at Saint Paul's Evangelical United Brethren Church, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1 He became a widower at the age of 43 with the death of Virginia on 3 May 1961.2 His obituary was published sometime in January 2001 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. His obituary stated:

     Rev. R. Kenneth Heim

     The Rev. R. Kenneth Heim, 83, of 67 Evansville Road, Berwick, a former area resident, died Sunday, Jan. 7, 2001, at his home following a lengthy illness. His first wife, the former Virginia Todd Benson, died May 3, 1961. He and his second wife, the former Jean Louise Bennett, observed their 38th wedding anniversary Aug. 12.

     A minister for 40 years, he retired in 1980 after 16 years at Bethany United Methodist Church, Berwick. He had been minister at St. Paul s United Methodist Church here and at churches in Montoursville and Pennsdale. He was a member and delegate of many general United Methodist conferences. He was founder of Ministry to Missionaries, Inc. He was an Army chaplain during World War II. He was a member of Fowlersville United Methodist Church. A 1935 graduate of Hepburn Township Consolidated School, he was Valedictorian of his class. He attended Cleveland Bible Institute and graduated from John Fletcher College, University Park, Iowa.

     Born June 23, 1917, in Cogan Station, he was a son of Ezra and Hannah Ann Wilson Heim. Surviving, besides his second wife, are a daughter, Carole Virginia Unseth of Dallas, Texas; three sons, Lowell Eugene of Colorado Springs, Colo., Merrill Douglas of Riverside, Calif., and Robert Alan of Millersville; a brother, J. Roscoe of this city; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were a brother, Paul, and two sisters, Cordelia Alice and Hazel D. Mutchler.

     The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Emmanuel Bible Chapel. Officiating will be the Revs. Terry V. Gentner, church pastor; Leonard W. Thebarge, former church pastor; Donald E. Heacock, assistant pastor, Bethany United Methodist Church, Berwick; Daniel L. Dennis, pastor, Bethany United Methodist Church, Berwick; and Donald W. Miller, Fowlersville/Lime Ridge United Methodist Charge. Burial will be in Montoursville Cemetery. Friends may call at Bethany United Methodist Church, Summerhill Avenue and Pine Street, Berwick, from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Arrangements are being handled by Kelchner-McMichael s, 119-121 E. Third St., Berwick.
