Miriam Shafer was born on 19 July 1883 at Eldred Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1 She was the daughter of Ephraim Shafer and Melinda Koch. Miriam Shafer died on 19 November 1918 at age 35 years and 4 months.1 She was buried in the Blooming Grove Cemetery, located in Hepburn Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1

Miriam Shafer was born July 19, 1883 in Eldred Township, one of twin daughters born to Ephraim and Melinda Koch Shafer. Ephraim was the third son of Frederick and Elizabeth Guinter Shafer.
Miriam attended the North Eldred School and graduated from Muncy Normal School in 1903. She was a school teacher and later employed in an insurance office. Miriam was a member of the Hepburn Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School tacher. She never married. Miriam died November 19, 1918 and is buried in the Blooming Grove Cemetery. She was Teacher - Insurance.
