Arlene Mary Fry was born on 6 October 1920 at Fairfield Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of Walter Raymond Fry and Alta Grace Fry. Arlene Mary Fry married, at age 20, Harry Moyer Updegraff Jr., age 23, son of Harry Moyer Updegraff and Elsie A. Crawford, on Saturday, 3 May 1941 at Montoursville, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1 Arlene Mary Fry died on 2 March 2008 at Mars, Butler County, Pennsylvania, at age 87 years, 4 months and 25 days.

Arlene M. Updegraff, 87, Butler, formerly of Montoursville passed away Sunday, March 2, 2008, of Alzheimer’s disease. She was being cared for at Worthington at Adams Assisted Living for the Memory Impaired in Mars, Pa.

Her husband, Harry M. Updegraff Jr. passed away January 6, 1981.
She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Montoursville.
Surviving are a son, Calvin M. (Lynn) Updegraff, and a daughter, Joan M. Updegraff, both of Butler; three brothers, Gordon (Edith) Fry and Clair Fry both of Muncy, Jacob (Ester) Fry and a brother- in-law, Allen Morrison both of Montoursville; grandchildren, Andrew and Julie of Houston, Texas.
She was pre-deceased by two brothers and six sisters.
Funeral services will be 11am, Friday, March 7, at Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville, with the Rev. J. Jeffrey Zetto officiating. Burial will follow in the Montoursville Cemetery. Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
