Phyllis A. Younkin was born on 29 December 1935 at Upper Fairfield Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1,2 She was the daughter of Cleon L. Younkin and Lena Ardella Plank.1 Phyllis A. Younkin married, at age 17, Walter R. Entz, son of Charles A. Entz and Sara F. Slagenweit, on Saturday, 21 March 1953.1 Phyllis A. Younkin died on 20 September 2000 at Williamsport Hospital, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 64 years, 8 months and 22 days.1,2 She was buried on 23 September 2000 in the Muncy Cemetery, located in Muncy, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. The funeral service was officiated by Reverend D. Gene Patterson.1
Her obituary was published on 20 September 2000 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. Her obituary stated:
MUNCY - Phyllis A. Entz, 64, of 310 W. Penn St. died Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2000, in Williamsport Hospital. She and her husband, Walter R. Entz, observed their 47th wedding anniversary March 21. She retired in 1983 from GTE Sylvania, Montoursville, and previously was employed by Glamorize, Muncy. She attended Muncy Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading, traveling, camping and attending shows.
Born Dec. 29, 1935, in Upper Fairfield Township, she was a daughter of Cleon L. and Lena A. Plank Yonkin.
Surviving, besides her husband, are a daughter, Virginia L. Phillips of Muncy; a son, Larry W. of Muncy; two sisters, Joyce Waltz of Montoursville and Betty Lou Moyer of Muncy; five grandchildren, Stephanie and Joshua King, Kellie Scampone, Rebecca Bomboy and Lacy Phillips; and six great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the church, Penn and Market Streets, with the Rev. D. Gene Patterson, officiating. Burial will be in Muncy Cemetery. Friends may call in the church from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Arrangements are being handled by Betzer s, 108 N. Main St.1 According to the Social Security Administrations Death Index Phyllis's last known residence was Muncy, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.2
