Donald E. Sweet was born on 16 September 1923 at Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1,2 He was the son of George Anthony Sweet and Kathryn Sutton.1 Donald E. Sweet married, at age 21, Bernadine Isabell Dangle, age 18, daughter of Franklin F. Dangle and Florence Edna Kinley, on Monday, 28 May 1945 at Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.3 Donald E. Sweet died on 14 November 2005 at Williamsport Hospital, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 82 years, 1 month and 29 days.1,2 He was buried on 18 November 2005 in the Green Lawn Memorial Park, located in Montgomery, Clinton Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. The funeral service was officiated by Reverend H. Wayne Knoebel.1
Donald E. Sweet was in military service with the United States Navy between 1941 and 1967 where he served in WW II, the Cuban Missile Crisis and the Vietnam War.1 He was a truck driver for Wundies Manufacturing between 1967 and 1987 at Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1 He became a widower at the age of 72 with the death of Bernadine on 1 November 1995.4,5 His obituary was published on 15 November 2005 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. His obituary stated:
Donald E. Sweet, 82, of 1229 Sherman Street, died Monday, November 14, 2005, at the Williamsport Hospital.
Don retired from the U. S. Navy after 26 years where he served in WW II, the Cuban Missile Crisis and Vietnam and had worked at Wundies Manufacturing for 20 years. He was a member of the St. Paul-Calvary United Methodist Charge, John F. Laedlein Lodge #707 F. & A. M. and a graduate of Williamsport High School. He was a lifetime member of American Legion Post 1, Post 844 V. F. W., the 40 et 8 Voiture 382 and was an active member of the Y.M.C.A.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Knight-Confer's, 1914 Memorial Ave., with Rev. H. Wayne Knoebel, officiating. Burial will be at Green Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Thurs. with a Masonic service at 8:30 p.m.
The family will provide the flowers and suggests donations to the Boy Scouts of America, 815 Northway Road.1 The Social Security Death Index gives the last residence of record for Donald as Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.2
