Melvin Edgar Lockcuff was born on 1 April 1920 at Old Lycoming Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.2,1 He was the son of John B. Lockcuff and Della Imms. Melvin Edgar Lockcuff first married, at age 27, Caroline Lillian Calkins, age 25, daughter of Floyd Douglas Calkins and Carrie Elizabeth Updegraff, on Thursday, 25 December 1947 at Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.3 Melvin Edgar Lockcuff married a second time Lois M. Morse circa 1961. Melvin Edgar Lockcuff died on 3 July 1979 at Williamsport Hospital, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 59 years, 3 months and 2 days.2,1 He was buried on 7 July 1979 in the Alvira Cemetery, located in Elimsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.2
He was in military service during World War II. He became a widower at the age of 38 with the death of Caroline on 28 November 1958.3
