     Richard Wayne Huggins was born on 30 May 1934 at Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.4,2,3 He was the son of Allen Richard Huggins and Lois Grace Calkins.1,3 Richard Wayne Huggins married, at age 19, Mabel L. Aderhold, daughter of Leslie Cleveland Aderhold and Verda Elizabeth Isbell, on Saturday, 29 May 1954 at Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.4,3 Richard Wayne Huggins died on 16 July 2002 at Williamsport Hospital, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 68 years, 1 month and 16 days.3,2 He was buried on 19 July 2002 in the Green Lawn Memorial Park, located in Montgomery, Clinton Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. The funeral service was officiated by Reverend M. Joyce Gensib.3
     Richard Wayne Huggins was a bridge draftsman and designer for PennDOT between 1967 and 1997 at Montoursville, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.3 His obituary was published on 18 July 2002 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. His obituary stated:

     Richard "Dick" W. Huggins, 68, of 1371 Clayton Ave., died on Tuesday, July 16, 2002, in the Williamsport Hospital. He was married to the former Mabel L. Aderhold. They observed their 48th wedding anniversary on May 29.

He served 24 years as a chief petty officer in the Naval Reserves and retired in 1997 after 30 years designing bridges for PennDOT in Montoursville. He was a member of New Hope U.M. Church (formerly High Street UMC), where he was a Sunday School teacher and served on various church committees. He was very active with the Susquehanna Council, BSA, was a member of the NRA, Susquehanna Chapter of Trout Unlimited, Lycoming Creek Anglers and Navy Enlisted Reserves, was secretary of The Original Junior Bowling League, taught After School Bible Club and was active in the Hooked on Fishing Not on Drugs program. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed bowling, camping, model railroading and family activities.

He was born May 30, 1934, in Williamsport, a son of Allen and Lois Calkins Huggins.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, is one son, Richard A. (Kathy) of Millville; three daughters, Sandy L. Baumgartner (Bill) of Cogan Station, Cindy K. Flook (Dan) of Williamsport and Diana J. Six (Hunter) of Milton; three brothers, Raymond of Nisbet, David of Lower Burrell and Gary of Duboistown; one sister, Wanda Fredericks of Cedaredge, CO and grandsons Danny, Matthew, Sean, Billy and Oak.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, 11 a.m. at New Hope U.M. Church, 1157 Market St., with Rev. M. Joyce Gensib, his pastor, officiating. There will be a visitation from 9:30 to 11 a.m. on Friday at the church. Interment will be in the Green Lawn Memorial Park. The family will provide the flowers and suggests that contributions be made to the New Hope U.M. Church, 1157 Market St., Williamsport, PA 17701. Knight-Confer Funeral Home.3
